Originally from a small town in Connecticut, Tia Long knew from the moment she witnessed her father in the basement spinning on turn tables and heard his voice on the radio, that music was her passion. At age 5, Tia got behind the mic and did a drop for her father's reggae station that would be used for 10+ years on live radio. Just like that she unconsciously made her first step into her future.
Solidified as a video journalist and producer, Long's career started out from a college internship with Yandy Smith’s Everything Girls Love blog site. She went on to later write for various sites including The Source, The Rapfest, Baller Alert, This Is R&B and more. Her brand, By: Tia Long, launched back in 2014, which held an archive of exclusive interviews with entertainers including Dave East, Wyclef Jean, Sevyn Streeter, Matthew Knowles, Eric Bellinger, and many more. Long is currently a writer for the notable, Paper Magazine.
Outside of her personal endeavors, Tia has been an active community leader in the State of Connecticut and Tri-State area. She is the Co-Founder of The Power Of CT(POC) which aims to provide networking events and advancement opportunities for millennial creatives and entrepreneurs of color. She’s been recognized by the State of Connecticut two years in a row, was named “Young Creative Of The Year” in 2017. With a strong catalogue of video production, published articles, and passion for content creation, By: Tia Long has a road of endless opportunities ahead.
Tia's ultimate goal is to head campaigns for musicians and artists and help develop them into international stars. Currently, she is the manager for R&B artist PxRRY and has spearheaded all digital campaigns and promotions for his projects.
