Tia Long knew from the moment she witnessed her father in the basement spinning on turn tables, heard his voice on the radio, and sat in on his sessions, that music was her passion. At age 5, Tia got behind the mic and did a drop for her father's reggae station that would be used for 10+ years on live radio. Just like that she unconsciously made her first step into her future.
Throughout her four years at the University of Hartford, pursuing a degree in Communications, she began leaving her stamp in the entertainment industry. Freshman year, Tia met former music manager to pop superstars Pink, Backstreet Boys, and NSync, Ms. Donna Wright. Wright had no idea that she would have impacted Tia's future by simply lending her hand as mentor and sharing insight on the ins and outs of the business. Soon after, Tia applied to be a writer for Hip Hop powerhouse, Yandy Smith-Harris' blog site - Everything Girls Love, where she published an array of content as an intern for the Entertainment Section.
The moment her very first post was published, with a sealed byline at the bottom she knew the words By: Tia Long rang with power and significance. She learned quickly that the business was not an easy one to grasp in a classroom, so she took the initiative to attend events like The Revolt Music Conference, joined groups like Minorities In Media to build a strong network, and absorbed information from industry moguls like the president of Bad Boy Records, Harve Pierre.
Since then, By: Tia Long has been published on Everything Girls Love, The Rapfest, Baller Alert, This Is RnB and GlobalGrind . The media maven has also produced exclusive interviews with artists such asTank, Sevyn Streeter, Tori Kelly, Rotimi, and many more.
Tia currently fills the role as Head of Public Relations for renowned producer, Jahlil Beats’, recording company - Tandem Music Group.
